Picture Quality & Recording Features

One of the most notable features of the Vantrue N4 is its ability to capture video footage in 4K resolution. This ultra-high-definition video quality allows for greater clarity and detail than traditional dashboard cameras, making identifying essential details like license plate numbers and road signs easier.

Another key feature of the Vantrue N4 dash cam is its three-channel recording capabilities. This means that the camera can simultaneously record video footage from three different angles: the front of the car, the interior of the car, and the rear of the car. This is especially useful for rideshare drivers or anyone who wants to keep an eye on what’s happening both inside and outside at the same time. The interior camera also features infrared night vision, capturing clear footage even in low-light conditions.

The channels feature three wide viewing angles, which are 155°, 165° and 160°. This provides a wider field of view than many other dashboard cameras on the market and means that you can capture more of your surroundings and get a more comprehensive view of your driving environment.

Additional Features

The Vantrue N4 3 channel 4K dash cam also includes various additional features that enhance its functionality and usability. Let’s take a closer look:

G-Sensor

The camera has a G-sensor, which automatically detects sudden movements or impacts and saves the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten. The sensitivity levels can be adjusted, making it useful for people who live in areas where roads are bumpy. Too many times we’ve seen the G-sensor activated due to potholes, taking up valuable storage. That’s not the case here.

Parking mode

Additionally, the Vantrue N4 has a parking mode feature, which is more a less a standard requirement nowadays. The 24-hour Multiple Parking Monitor feature is triggered when the front or inside of the car detects motion and allows the camera to continue recording even when the car is parked, and the engine is turned off.

SD card & loop recording

The device has a loop recording feature which automatically overwrites the oldest video when SD card is full. As for memory card compatibility, the Vantrue N4 3-channel dash cam supports up to 256GB, which is much larger than the common figures of 128GB that we’re used to seeing. Therefore, more videos can be saved and reaccessed if required on a 256GB sd card before loop recording overwrites it. This is perfect for people who want some extra footage for content creation or memories captured on a road trip.

GPS functionality

It has a GPS system that can track your location and speed and provide a timestamp for your video footage. This can be useful for providing evidence in the event of an accident or for monitoring your driving habits over time. However, sadly this option isn’t built in on this device, so if you want this functionality, you’ll need to buy the additional Vantrue N4 GPS mount.

Vantrue N4 Installation

The Vantrue N4 dash cam is also very easy to use and install. It comes with a suction cup mount that can be attached to the windshield or dashboard of your car, and the camera itself is lightweight and compact, so it won’t be a distraction while driving. The rear dash cam is small and discreet, which is handy when looking through your rearview.

User-Friendliness

The camera has a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate and adjust, and it comes with various customizable settings that allow you to fine-tune your recording preferences to suit your specific needs. We found this one to be much more intuitive than some of the most recent dashcams we’ve reviewed recently.

Drawbacks

One potential downside of the Vantrue N4 dash cam is its price. At around $200+, it is one of the more expensive dashboard cameras on the market. However, given its advanced features and superior image quality, many users believe the price is worth it. Additionally, the camera has a lengthy warranty, so you can try it out and see if it meets your expectations.

Another potential drawback of the Vantrue N4 is its reliance on an additional GPS mount. While this is a common feature among dashboard cameras, it’s pretty much expected at this price point, which lowers the overall value for the money aspect of this purchase.

Lastly, there is no app functionality, WIFI, or Bluetooth connectivity. While these features are becoming more common with high-end dash cams similar to the Vantrue N4, for some reason, they’re missed off this device. This may or may not be a deal breaker for some, but, for many, having these features are trivial at best.

Who Would Love This Dash Cam?

This versatile dash cam is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality dashboard camera with advanced features and superior image quality. Its ability to capture video footage in 4K resolution, combined with its wide-angle lens and three-channel recording capabilities, make it an ideal option for drivers who want to capture their daily experiences on the road and in the cabin, which is ideal for taxis and Uber.

The camera’s GPS system (optional), loop recording, G-sensor, and parking mode feature further enhance its functionality and usability, making it a valuable tool for providing evidence in the event of an accident or tracking your driving habits over time. And with its user-friendly interface and easy installation, the Vantrue N4 is a great choice for drivers of all experience levels.
